Reporting to the Engineering Manager, an exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Superintendent at Oaky Creek North Mine. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and successfully lead a team to deliver our business objectives.


You will be responsible for:


  • Oversight a team of maintenance planners and engineers to ensure equipment maintenance strategies are up to date, sufficiently detailed, completed on time and rescheduled or closed off where required.
  • The effective roll out of new and existing equipment maintenance strategies and reduce the risk to the business by ensuring the introduction to site process is adhered to.
  • Monitoring the execution of the maintenance strategy and work order compliance by liaising with operational stakeholders on a daily basis and escalating where necessary so that equipment health is understood at all times.
  • Ownership of the production delay data as well as the root cause analysis process in order to create meaningful actions that add value, improve safety and increase uptime.
  • Driving reliability centred maintenance wherever possible via the use of FMECA logic.
  • Ensuring work order maintenance hours are realistic so that annual budgeted maintenance hours are accurate and achievable (Time Usage Model verification)

As the Maintenance Superintendent, you will have:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • SAP preferred.
  • Previous experience performing the same or similar roles in an underground mining operation is preferred.
  • A knowledge of underground coal mining equipment is beneficial.
  • A sound knowledge of risk identification processes, safe work practices and relevant Australian standards.
  • An ability to influence others and drive change.
  • An appreciation of the bigger picture.
  • High levels of resourcefulness, versatility, initiative, personal organisation, and diplomacy.
  • Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills.
