About the role:


CMC is seeking an individual to support the HSEQ Manager and Project Managers in the implementation, auditing and continued improvement of our HSEQ systems, processes, monitoring compliance and ongoing training requirements.


Based out of our corporate head office at Eagle Farm with some time spent on site, this will be a varied role, providing health, safety and environmental support to our teams both at head office and on site at our various construction sites throughout Qld, NSW & NT.

You will provide expert knowledge and advice, working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

As the HSE Administrator you will:

  • Ensure site based safety inspections and task observations are completed;
  • Ensure project personnel have the necessary competencies and complete the necessary documentation for the plant and equipment utilised on site;
  • Support on site incident investigations;
  • Provide injury management/rehabilitation (suitable duties) services;
  • Deliver workplace safety training such as inductions, awareness and site work health and safety training;
  • Participate in project tool box and prestart meetings;
  • Provide coaching for HSE performance improvement;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth WHS and Environmental Legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice;
  • Identifying HSE risks and action plans are developed, implemented and reviewed;
  • Developing safe work and environmental practices to mitigate risk;
  • On site HSE subcontractor management;
  • Identify core competencies of the workforce with senior and line managers;
  • Check employee competencies as required;
  • Ensure Company statutory requirements are met;
  • Reviewing and updating documents as required;
  • Complete HSE administration tasks;
  • Produce monthly/weekly safety and training reports.

About you:

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate the following:

  • Recognised qualifications in Health, Safety and Environment would be an advantage;
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft suite;
  • Be able to lead, investigate, develop, mentor and implement;
  • Be able to work as part of a team that is driven by success;
  • Be selfmotivated and adaptable with a 'can do' attitude;
  • Be patient, helpful and professional;
  • A willingness to learn and take direction;
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in civil construction, including roads, structures, rail and/or water infrastructure would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, safety systems and current health, safety and environment legislation;
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • An accredited certificate in rehabilitation and return to work coordinator would be an advantage;
  • ICAM investigation (basic) qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage;
  • Willing and able to travel to our project sites throughout Qld, NSW, NT (overnight or longer stays will be required);
