About the role of Deputy Commissioner:

The Deputy Commissioner supports the Chief Commissioner in placing Victoria Police as a national and international leader in the provision of high quality, innovative policing services that are responsive to changing needs in a growing, dynamic and diverse community.

This includes supporting the Chief Commissioner by taking a strong leadership and mentoring role in accelerating key organisational initiatives.

The Deputy Commissioner is critical to adopting and ensuring a strong strategic focus and positioning Victoria Police to strengthen organisational capacity, capability and culture.


Reporting to the Chief Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner will contribute as a member of the Victoria Police Executive Command in recognising and responding to issues confronting policing and the community.

The position will be facilitative, agile, supportive, guiding and highly influential over whole of organisational performance through productive relationships.
