Our client, in the commercial sector is seeking a
Payroll Officer within the
Inner South of Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare all aspects of payroll including wages/salaries to staff (250 staff across 5 entities) according to timesheets approved by supervisors and employment conditions advised by Human Resources department
  • Prepare and disperse various payroll deductions, superannuation, taxes and other relevant tasks accurately and efficiently. This will include managing all superannuation and salary continuance requirements.
  • Complete month and year end payroll journals, payroll reconciliation to the General Ledger and prepare various payroll returns and statistics. This includes generating monthly reporting to the HR management as required.
  • Administering the Workers Compensation case documentation and payments. To communicate with the employee and their manager to ensure all relevant documentation is completed for all Workers Compensation.
  • Provide relevant monthly reporting to HR Management as well as other adhoc reporting as required.

About you:


  • Relevant experience in similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Previous experience using Cloud 9 would be advantageous but not essential
  • A team player with great organisational and great administrative skills
  • Is a selfstarter with great organisational and time management skills.
