The Clinic


The UNSW Medicine Lifestyle Clinic is a centre of excellence providing physical activity, lifestyle and health programs for the prevention and management of chronic disease, injury and disability.

Run by the School of Health Sciences within UNSW Medicine & Health, the clinic has strong links with researchers and clinicians in the fields of cardiovascular and metabolic health, cancer treatment, brain health, mental health, and musculoskeletal health.

The clinic is staffed by Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) with extensive experience in exercise therapy and rehabilitation. To ensure maximum health outcomes, AEPs work closely with medical practitioners and other allied-health professionals.


Why this role matters


This position will be responsible for working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and is a clinical supervisory role in the UNSW Medicine Lifestyle Clinic.

The role includes quality control, teaching and supervision of all exercise physiology student practicum placements in the UNSW Medicine & Health Lifestyle Clinic.


Some skills required:


  • A degree in Exercise Science or equivalent and/or Exercise Physiology accreditation with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) with preferably, at least 1year subsequent relevant experience in the field.
  • Proven experience conducting patient consultations as well as delivering primary and secondary prevention services.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a small team as well as independently with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including demonstrated capacity to maintain effective professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in using Practice Management Software (PMS) and sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
