Position Information:

Eagle Vale High School is a comprehensive high school situated in the Macarthur Region.

We serve the communities of Eagle Vale, Kearns, Claymore, Eschol Park, Blair Athol and Blairmount
. The school is a vibrant, culturally diverse community of 21 nationalities with an enrolment of 550 students, including 10% Aboriginal.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

Proven ability to develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate evidenced-based wellbeing programs and initiatives.


Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of the Wellbeing team to provide genuine interventions which foster student engagement, positive relationships, resilience and a safe learning environment.


High level interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to effectively collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to support students with complex needs and improve learning outcomes for all students.


Demonstrated ability to work as a dynamic member of the school executive team in leading initiatives that address whole school strategic directions and system negotiated targets, including attendance.


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
