A day in the Life of our Allied Health Assistant

This key role is aligned to the delivery of allied health assistant interventions as part of an acute bed based Physiotherapy service


You will be assisting physiotherapists with their acute bed based patients in the provision of best practice patient care as well as non-clinical duties that support the efficient operation of a busy service environment.

This is a great opportunity to build and develop your skills as an Allied Health Assistant.

About you and what you can bring to our patients and service


T o be a success in this role you will dynamically respond to the demands within the Physiotherapy team across the site.

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is required (academic transcript of completion required) if applicable

Previous experience working as an Allied Health Assistant or equivalent essential

Experience within an acute bed based hospital stream is desirable

Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication both written and oral

A strong commitment to high quality care

The ability to work as part of a diverse team

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.

Selection Criteria


Essential:
Completion of Certificate 4 (Allied Health Assistant) from a registered training organisation including training modules in Physiotherapy


Essential:
Australian citizen or current Australian working visa


Essential:
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with the multidisciplinary team including effective clinical handover


Desirable:
Completed an AHA physiotherapy training module in an acute hospital
