About the opportunity

As a Technical Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the processing within the Southern region by ensuring the network maintains reliable and compliant plants and processes.

With a team of 7 direct reports and over 100 indirect reports, this position offers you the chance to provide leadership and guidance to the technical workforce in the southern processing region, encompassing New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

What you'll deliver with us

As part of your role, you will assume the responsibility of efficiently overseeing technical plans and resources across multiple facilities and shifts.

This will entail creating and implementing comprehensive Technical Maintenance Plans, skillfully managing service delivery to meet partnership expectations, and ensuring meticulous adherence to operational standards for machine operation.

You'll also

  • Design and execute technical maintenance plans to ensure operational outcomes are met
  • Lead optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Ensure 24/7 assistance is available for technical faults across the network
  • Develop and review maintenance policy, procedures, plans and other instructions for effectiveness
  • Manage machine availability and performance to agreed targets.
  • Design and implement a technical services operating model that delivers performance and efficiency across the network
  • Manage a multisite and mobile workforce.
  • Setting expectations, holding my team to account, and recognising their contribution
  • Ensuring my team has the information, skills, and experience to do their job

About you


You are a hardworking, compliant and experienced people leader with up-to-date knowledge of Vendor upgrades and improvements across the sortation machinery we use within processing.

You will have excellent conflict resolution strategies and can influence outcomes with the ability to undertake highly specialised maintenance support and related activities.


  • Experience working within a unionized environment is advantageous but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience within a People Leader position
  • Knowledge of LEAN methodology
