We have an exciting opportunity for a
Civil Surveyor to join our team. As Civil Surveyor, you will provide surveying and design services for all projects. You will also provide skilled knowledge in using specialised surveying equipment and computer CAD technology.

You will work alongside the Project Manager and Site Manager to facilitate the construction program and the construction team on site and liaise with external stakeholders as required.


We have a strong portfolio of works with multiple projects underway across Sydney's Northwest and Southwest, Hunter and Illawarra regions.

This role will be based in the
Greater Sydney region, requiring travel to job sites across the area.


In this position, you will:


  • Ensure daily site works are performed per the construction program.
  • Perform construction survey setout.
  • Plan and review the overall status of project(s) on an ongoing basis with the Site Manager and Project Manager.
  • Ensure sites are set out to WEM standards for creating survey models and site pegging.
  • Before the commencement of site works, gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and drawings.
  • Work with the construction team to resolve design clashes most effectively, highlight areas of risk with the provided designs, check they work on the ground and provide effective solutions if designs are flawed.
  • Notify the Project Manager of any defects, mistakes, errors, contamination or variations identified from the levels surveyed.
  • Assist the construction team with understanding set out information through toolboxing or GPS assistance.
  • Check information and plans are correct with the latest design information provided by consultants and that all GPS/UTS machinery is working to the latest information.
  • Look for ways to continuously improve the way survey is delivered within the company.
  • In conjunction with the Construction Team and Safety Representative ensure that construction site safety is managed and maintained at all times.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diplmoa in Surveying would be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in civil surveying encompassing engineering, setout, control, and GPS surveys.
  • Experience and knowledge in the utilisation of total station and GPS Setout.
  • Competent in the use of drones and Propeller.
  • Ability to create site specific models for our operators to work from (e.g. bulk earthworks models, large drainage excavation models).
  • Ability to read construction drawings and competent in using 12D modelling.
  • Commitment to health, safety, environment and quality policies and procedures.
  • Be able to work independently, unsupervised, and in a team environment and prioritise work as requested.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and sound interpersonal skills in liaising with clients, consultants and other stakeholders in the project to resolve issues and result in a practical design for all stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Desire to be part of a "can do", vibrant and dynamic team.
  • A valid Drivers' Licence, with the ability to travel across sites
