The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking for a WHS Manager to join the team.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Health & Safety Manager you will coordinate and manage all delivery aspects of WHS on the SSTOM project as per deed and legislative requirements.
You may be responsible for:
- Assisting the Project Director, responsible manager(s) and the Risk Manager to identify, assess, evaluate and control workplace health and safety risks.
- Managing the compliance obligations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, National Rail Safety Legislation, and associated legislative requirements.
- Stopping the progress of the relevant part of the Project Works where health or safety is being or may be compromised
- Assisting, advising and supporting senior management in WHS policy procedures, legislation and training requirements including rail safety requirements.
- Reporting notifiable occurrences to the respective government agency and reviewing notifiable occurrences to ensure actions has been taken to prevent recurrence.
- Leading investigations for all extreme risk incidents, injuries and hazards and providing functional assistance and recommendations for the development of appropriate preventative actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Providing leadership to our personnel to achieve no harm or injury on culture in the workplace
- Prepare and submit monthly health and safety reports and attend senior management meetings to present and discuss health and safety related matters.
Key Requirements for the role:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (Health and Safety)
- At least 15 years of experience working in a similar role on a project of similar size and complexity to SSTOM project
- At least 10 years of experience working in a Senior Management role on a multidisciplinary, major infrastructure project, of similar size and complexity to the SSTOM project
