Nines Data team is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the systems and architecture that enable the collection, storage, processing, and analysis of data.


This function plays a pivotal role in providing clean, reliable, and accessible data to support business intelligence, analytics, and other data-driven initiatives.

The data technology function is responsible for the successful integration and utilisation of data platforms and technologies including the data lake, analytics capture & visualisation tools, ETL, data quality tools and the CDP platform amongst others.


Additionally, it works with business owners within Nines publishing, TV and radio divisions to deliver data products and services that help drive data-led decisions and revenue streams.

The Senior Data Governance Manager is a new role for Nine. It will establish data governance frameworks, processes and training to ensure the integrity and security of data across Nine.


Qualifications

As Senior Data Governance Manager you will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework:
  • Define clear data ownership, stewardship, and access control policies.
  • Establish data quality standards and metrics to monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Design and maintain processes for data classification, cataloguing and lineage tracking.
  • Advocate for and implement data governance tools and technologies.
  • Champion a culture of data literacy:
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate stakeholders on data governance principles and best practices.
  • Foster collaboration between business and technical teams to ensure datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance:
  • Stay informed about Australian data privacy and security regulations including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
  • Stay informed on likely new Australian privacy legislation
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with these regulations.
  • Partner with legal, risk cyber and data technology teams to address datarelated legal, security and risk concerns
  • Stay current on industry trends:
  • Identify and evaluate emerging data governance technologies and best practices.
  • Advocate for the adoption of new technologies that improve data management and governance effectiveness.

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • 7-10 years of experience in data governance, data quality, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data governance programs.
  • Strong understanding of data management best practices and frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organisation, including technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Experience with data governance tools
  • Familiarity with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform
