Impact and Role Contribution:


As a Manager, Controls Assurance, you will join our high performing Chief Controls Office teams and assist in supporting the business to identify, assess and manage the risk inherent in providing a range of operations services to the CBA group.

You will also partner with key stakeholders to deliver insights, utilising analytical skills and complex data.

You will need the adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with the extended leadership team across Line 2 and Group Audit.


In any given week you will:

  • Assist in the Automation strategic pillar in becoming more efficient and effective in both executing assurance and testing, through the innovative use of Automated Assurance Tools, Data Analytics, Continuous Monitoring and Modelling.
  • Provide Line 1 assurance through testing complex automated and business controls that support the Bank's critical business.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the controls environment through implementation of continuous control monitoring, automation and control rationalisation.
  • Validate and present findings, document test plans, results and conclusions clearly and concisely
  • Take ownership of assigned internal customer relationships using strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, keeping stakeholders informed of assignments, emerging opportunities where analytics can help achieve desired business outcomes

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in a Risk Management, Assurance or Audit environment including the identification, planning, testing and reporting on automated and technology dependent manual controls across various business processes
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems
  • Influencing and consulting skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient with one of the following toolsAlteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Servicenow as an end user and/or Advanced excel skills
  • Knowledge of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks

Your qualifications:

years of relevant experience.

  • Previous experience in financial services (or similar environment), Big 4 and/or risk management highly valued.
  • Relevant Tertiary Degree/ Relevant professional accreditations
