Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for providing leadership to the Finance team to deliver effective financial management, reporting and control, policies and processes that support and align with the Strategic Plan.


Role responsibilities:


  • Drives accurate, timely and innovative reporting and analysis utilising the NetSuite Financial System, including continuous development of systems and processes.
  • Effectively mentor budget owners, building their budgetary and financial analysis skills and capabilities.
  • Manage, develop and lead a finance team to achieve results
  • Develop key internal and external relationships including liaising with regulatory bodies, ACNC, ASIC, ATO, DFAY
  • Financial Planning and Reporting annual budget process, analysis and forecasting
  • Continuous improvement of financial systems, policies and procedures that are fit for purpose.
  • Establish and manage appropriate financial control systems for the efficient and effective management of the income, expenditure and payroll functions. Supervisory role of Payroll and Accounts Payable.
  • Plan and monitor cashflow projections.
  • Oversee the external audit, review and analyse the audit outcome, and recommend the audited financial statements to the CFO for approval.
  • Attend the Risk & Compliance Committee meeting and Fraud Control Committee meetings as appropriate.
  • Oversee or prepare monthly IAS, Quarterly BAS, annual yearend audits, statutory reporting and compliance requirements and reports.
  • Maintenance of income tax exempt endorsement status including the Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC), Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), and Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) endorsements.
  • Oversee Banking & Insurance relationships and manage Investments.
  • Review and oversight of payroll both internally and for external alliances. Resolve any payroll issues promptly.
  • Provide support to the supporter engagement team donations processing to ensure income and donations and processed accurately
  • Support CFO on company projects

Key Criteria:


  • CA/CPA & degree qualifications
  • At least 5 years of similar experience working in complex finance environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills and abilities, effective people leader
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce change and improve systems efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Well organized, effective planner and communicator
  • Advanced Excel skills and extensive accounting ERP software skills, Netsuite highly regarded
  • Working knowledge and skills in payroll management and salary packaging
  • Not for Profit industry experience desirable
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM database skills highly regarded
  • Proactive, analytical and technical
  • Aligned to the charity's mission and faith
