About the program and role

A unique career opportunity to help lead the transformation of a purpose driven fundraising team at one of Australia's largest charities.

Be part of the marketing & fundraising senior leadership team, bringing your philanthropy strategy and implementation passion and expertise to help realise our bold vision and new 5-year strategic plan.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Marketing & Fundraising, this role will lead and manage Wesley Mission's fundraising strategy, execution into marketing, and actively manage results, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with donors.

You will implement fundraising (acquisition, retention and growth) plans for Major Donors and high net worth individuals, as well as Trusts & Foundations and Corporates.

You will also partner with operations and support services and Wesley Congregational Life teams to build fundraising programmes that meet market needs and support organisational strategy and mission.

You have deep experience and a strong track record of networking, building rapport and strong long-term relationships with donors.

Essential criteria
- tertiary qualified, ideally with a major in Marketing or Business Studies

15+ years' experience driving the development and implementation of fundraising strategies (acquisition, retention and growth) targeting Major Donors, HNW, Trusts & Foundations and Corporates

- significant experience in developing and implementing fundraising programmes, campaigns and communication plans into market ideally targeting Major Donors, HNW, Trusts & Foundations and Corporates
- strong track record of delivering fundraising growth in the Major Donors, HNW, Trusts & Foundations and Corporates market
- strong capability and experience in stakeholder management (Board/C suite/Executive level)
- strong capability and experience in relationship management (Major Donors, HNW, Trusts & Foundations and Corporates)
- strong capability and skills in customer experience and supporter journeys, CRM and data analytics
- experience managing a team of skilled fundraising professionals for superior performance
- strong administrative and computer skill
- proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines and budgets
- demonstrable skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and financial management
- thorough attention to detail
- excellent written and verbal skills, public speaking and presentation capabilities, including to a Board
- outstanding interpersonal skills, flexible, patient and the ability to challenge practices and behaviours.
