Cost Controller - NSW Government


A Cost Controller is required by a NSW Government department based in Macquarie Park + WFH (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract with likely ongoing extensions.



Location: Macquarie Park + WFH (hybrid):


  • Hours: Monday
  • Friday, 40 hours per week:


Pay Rate:
$750 - $830 per day + Super:


Contract Length: 6 months with likely ongoing extensions

Primary Purpose of the Role:


As the Cost Controller, you will provide timely & rigorous cost performance monitoring, analysis, control & reporting across projects & programs in accordance with approved cost management & control standards, frameworks & procedures.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Implement & maintain the project cost control plan
  • Assist in managing & updating the project cost forecasts for the current financial year
  • Provide appropriate time phasing for the financial year & project life forecast aligned to the project schedule
  • Support the administration of the project's change control process
  • Provide detailed & regular adhoc cost performance reports for the project performance team

About You:


  • Demonstrated experience in cost management or equivalent management responsibility in a highrisk environment
  • In depth understanding of cost risk management strategies & practices
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement & communication skills
  • Strong ability to influence, coach & communicate cost management concepts to people with limited knowledge in these areas
