The Role

As an ICT Service Manager in the Service Monitoring and Reporting Directorate (DSMR), you'll be responsible under broad direction to effectively engage and communicate with Technical and Business stakeholders in support of a large Directorate of APS and contracted ICT specialists.

You will be required to fulfil the role of ICT Change Manager for the Directorate and provide ICT Change Management advice and guidance to ICT system sustainment teams.

Further, you will be required to have and maintain a strong understanding and compliance with Procurement and Finance Government frameworks.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the Directorate's Budget and Personnel contracts;
  • Management of Purchase orders, Invoice verification and payments;
  • Procurement of the Directorate's Hardware, Software and Services;
  • Development of Procurement and Change procedural documents;
  • Administration of the Document Management system;
  • Directorate ICT Change Manager;
  • Maintaining the Directorate's Service Catalogues;
  • Provide Facility Management Support;
  • Undertaking the role of Unit Security Officer;
  • Supervision of a small team.

About our Team

The role of Directorate Service Monitoring and Reporting (DSMR) is to support Operations and Governance through the provision of ICT end to end monitoring, reporting and targeted analysis services to the Department.


Specifically, DSMR provides the Department with situational awareness of ICT services by reporting performance and the impact of unplanned events and planned changes to Defence's Single Information Environment.

DSMR delivers this outcome by monitoring and analysing ICT system data and providing dashboards and reports to the Executive and Defence operations to support decision-making, including: resolving ICT performance root causes; ICT governance integration and contract management; and near real time ICT situational awareness.

DSMR supports the Department through the provision of the following capabilities:

  • End to End Monitoring and Reporting capabilities;
  • Provision by exception specialised platform hosting services in support of Defence business;
  • Provision of an Enterprise Data Warehouse capability;
  • Delivery of analysis in support of major ICT business issues, and service management incident/problem investigations.
  • Be able to manage the priorities and needs of team members and stakeholders;
  • Work in a dynamic environment, remaining agile and shifting between assignments rapidly.
