Position Description - MPSCC Program Support Officer

(Food & Beverage Attendant)

Purpose
This position will be responsible for supporting the delivery of professional, effective and
efficient operations at the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre and other City of
Marion facilities as required.

The primary objective of this position will be to maintain a high level of customer service in
the food and beverage areas but will also be required to help stakeholders and users of the
facility.

Strong and positive communication skills and the ability to maintain solid relationships with
stakeholders will be vital to this role.


Key Deliverables

  • Delivery of food and beverage services within the facility in line with its Liquor License.
  • Under direction of the facility Manager ordering and maintaining stock as required
  • EFTPOS and Point of Sale transaction and reconciliations.
  • Set up meeting room furniture and facilities/technology as per booking, when necessary.
  • Assist in commercial kitchen duties and operations as required (dishwashing, cleaning)
  • Provide general customer service as part of the facilities' team which includes servicing and
set up of function requirements.

  • Willingness to participate and work across other City of Marion sites in sports and
community activities whilst promoting a positive image of council.

  • Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and
  • Embrace ethical and moral behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud and/or
corruption in accordance with Fraud and Corruption Management and the Code of
Conduct.

  • All other duties as required.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Australian residency.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality, food and beverage environment.
  • Responsible Service Alcohol certification
  • Advanced communication skills both written and verbal.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:


  • Experience working in a sport or community facility environment.
  • Relevant experience in venue operations and related customer service.
  • Ability to 'set up' 'pack down' for hirer or event use, which may include manual handling

- tasks.
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize conflicting activities/tasks.
  • Flexibility to meet changing priorities and variable working duties and hours.
  • Ability to work in a small team environment.
  • Experience operating in a busy customer service environment with facetoface

- communication
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite software and computer literacy.

Standard conditions

  • Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance (will be arranged by the City of
Marion)

  • Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment (will be arranged by the
City of Marion)

  • Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia,
with the ability to provide documentation of a valid work visa.
