About the role:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced
Maintenance Officer to join us at our Plumpton Villa (Glenroy) Home. The
Maintenance Officer role sits within the leadership level and is a pivotal role within the Home.


Reporting to the Home Manager, you will oversee a variety of maintenance tasks and checks across the facility ensuring a safe environment for residents and employees.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance program as set out by our organisation.


What You Will Do:


  • Ensure at all times that risks are appropriately managed and in line with policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes
  • Maintain all documentation as required by CraigCare's policies and procedures
  • Support the Home Manager in multiple duties including regulatory compliance requirements and more
  • Report all incidents immediately and follow corrective action directives
  • Collaborate with the National Building Services Manager and other CraigCare Maintenance Officer's to ensue processes are reviewed and improved where appropriate
  • Maintain professionalism and care when interacting with residents and residents family

What You Will Bring:


  • General maintenance including, but not limited to, patch & painting, minor carpentry, minor plumbing, changing of light globes, minor repairs to wheelchairs, beds and various residents equipment
  • Assist in overseeing compliance relating to fire safety and accreditation
  • Supervise external contractors
  • Maintain the workshop, plant rooms and store rooms in a clean and tidy manner and maintain all tools & equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to operate as part of a multidisciplinary team, promoting an engaging and inclusive Home environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • Customer service focused and committed to achieving optimal outcomes for our residents, families and organisation
  • Demonstrated organisational and timemanagement skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Is a team player and is also able to work autonomously
  • Previous experience in aged care and similar highly desirable but not essential
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of residents, employees and visitors
