Partnering with our Client Sydney Water, Delivering 4 Customers supports the design, construction, maintenance and facilities management as part of the 10-year P4S program in the South Region of Sydney that spans across the Eora and Dharawal Nations.

D4C is seeking a senior procurement specialist/category manager to deliver optimum procurement strategies and outcomes across the southern region.

Working alongside our client, this role will develop, deploy, and manage category strategies, and procurement and sourcing activities that ensure value for money, appropriate levels of service and compliance with procedures and professional best practice.

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Understand our clients corporate strategy, values and behaviours in order to contribute to a positive and productive working environment.
  • Provide management and leadership to other commercial roles, including direct reports where applicable
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and direct reports to deliver project commercial outcomes.
  • Work with the Business to ensure category plans and procurement strategies are deployed through the annual Business Planning Process, and reviewed every quarter as appropriate.
  • Lead contract lifecycle management for major contracts including leading periodic pricing reviews, renegotiation of contract terms, scheduled performance and contract reviews, the management and resolution of supplier performance matters and incidents, and the preparation of contract documentation with legal counsel.
  • Participate in ongoing process and system improvements to support and improve business efficiency and risk management, and staff work environment.
  • Exercise astute judgement in managing confidential and sensitive information that has the potential to impact on organisational performance and reputation.
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial pack and Contract Sum
Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Supply Chain, Commerce or equivalent
  • Experience within the water/wastewater utility industry is desirable
  • 7+ years' experience in strategic procurement/category management in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector
  • Current Drivers Licence.
