Government entity seeks an experienced Digital Coordinator to develop and maintain content on the organisation's website and social media channels.


About the role:


Our client, a government entity, requires an experienced Digital Coordinator for a full-time, 6 month contract to commence in early January 2023.

Working within the Communications and Engagement team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining content on the organisation's website and social media channels.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Managing content on the organisation's website in line with policies and processes and digital best practice.
  • Writing clear and engaging content for the organisation's website and social media platforms and create and edit high quality video for use across digital communications channels.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff on website best practice to ensure the site meets SEO, accessibility and usability requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues with support providers to resolve technical issues and develop the site to better meet users' needs.
  • Monitor the organisation's social media accounts and coordinate responses to comments or issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on website and social media performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation's website and use of social media for communications.
  • Contribute to the timely and high quality delivery of communication and engagement support as directed by the Digital Engagement Adviser.

Experience and Skills:

The experience and skills you will need to demonstrate include:

  • Demonstrated experience managing content for public-facing websites including advanced online writing or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Drupal 8 CMS, HTML and CSS, WCAG 2.1, best practice SEO techniques and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics.
  • Strong time management, organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision and as part of a team.
  • Selfmotivated team player with a cando, proactive attitude.

Qualifications:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Digital Communications, Digital Media or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience within the government sector is highly desirable
