The role


The Finance Project Officer is accountable to the Manager, Corporate Services for the development and maintenance of an efficient financial management service for the Board, including the preparation of annual financial statements, taxation and other reporting.

The role is responsible for contributing to wider Corporate Services goals and objectives as a senior team member.


About you

  • You are experienced in financial management and accounting including preparing financial accounts to trial balance stage, preparing and processing journals, reconciliation of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and bank accounts, preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
  • You are experienced with government budget and monitoring systems and analysing variances between budgeted and actual results and the preparation of concise management reports with recommendations
  • You can develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial audit and risk requirements.

Our main functions are:
- approving early childhood services
- assessing and rating early childhood services
- educating and monitoring compliance with the law
- taking regulatory action in the event of non-compliance
- registering schools
- reviewing the registration of schools.


The Education Standards Board is located in the CBD in modern office facilities close to public transport and Rundle Mall.

We employ approximately 40 staff.

  • Term vacancy six months from date of commencement
