Band - Salary Range $92,304 to $100,516 per annum + 11% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity


Working within the Amenity Protection team, the successful applicant will report to the Amenity Protection Coordinator and be responsible for ensuring an effective Fire Management, governance framework.

This role will work strategically and continually develop and maintain a 'partnership approach' to fire management; based on relationships at all levels within the organisation; the community and external agencies.


The successful applicant will liaise with fire services, participate as a member of the municipal emergency management planning committee, fire prevention planning and implementation to assist in the development, implementation and review of the municipal fire management plan and action Plan.

Also participating in a rotational after-hours availability service as rostered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with fire services, other authorities and councils regarding fire prevention planning and implementation to assist in the development, implementation and review of the Municipal Fire Management Plan and Action Plan.
  • Improve compliance with legislative requirements for fire management in our community, through working cooperatively with fire and emergency service agencies to develop implement and review programs for the community.
  • Issue Fire Prevention Notices and facilitate the recovery of noncompliance fines and costs.

About you

_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_

  • Relevant qualification or extensive experience in Fire Management, Emergency Management, Risk Management or related disciplines.
  • Substantial experience in law enforcement and court procedures.
  • Considerable experience in developing, implementing and reviewing Municipal Fire Management Plans and fire mitigation strategies.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
