The Role


As the Technical Program Manager you will be responsible for defining project objectives, developing detailed program delivery plans, coordinating teams, managing vendor relationships, ensuring technology change management practices, and supervising program performance.


In this exciting new role, you will play a key part in ensuring MYOB actualises the benefits of simplified processes and automation through technical optimization and innovation.


The opportunity


As a Program Manager you play a meaningful role leading and managing a sophisticated program of work aligned with MYOB's SaaS journey.

You will work closely with Technical and Stream Leads to deliver programs and provide a view of all cross-vertical and functional dependencies for the delivery teams and take the lead role during MYOB's quarterly planning cycles.


This is 12 month fixed term role, where you will drive the transparency of programs in flight and collaborate with SLT across multiple channels.


You will also be responsible for:

  • Understanding the business needs and objectives and ensuring that the software delivery project aligns with those needs.
  • Developing project plans with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables within the defined scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Managing any changes to scope, timelines, or budgets in an agile manner, and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with crossfunctional teams to ensure that all necessary resources are available.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, communicating progress and status updates to stakeholders,
  • Ensuring that MYOB adheres to industry best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Facilitating communication between stakeholders and teams, requirements and scope are clearly defined and understood by all parties involved.
  • Coordinating work assigned to the development teams through full software life cycle to include estimation, code, design, and unit tests.

If you have significant experience in the following areas, we would love to learn more about you:

  • Deep understanding of agile principles, practices, and ceremonies, and experience managing projects in an agile context, including the ability to plan and track progress using agile tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team of developers, testers, and other stakeholders towards a common goal, lead by example, set a clear vision, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clearly articulating technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders,
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization, including executives and endusers, and to manage their expectations effectively.
  • Experience with risk and issue management with the ability to develop and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implement changes that lead to increased efficiency and quality.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically to solve complex technical and business problems, and anticipate and proactively address potential roadblocks or issues.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, technologies, and best practices
