Work for one of the most well known and leading businesses in Audio Visual and IT who are highly respected in the market.

They are currently seeking a highly regarded and experienced Senior AV Engineer/ Technical Lead to join their new business adventure in the Victoria market.


This role will be pivotal in providing the business with an experienced Audio Visual Engineer who can hit the ground running and provide support and development across the industry.

You will have the opportunity to work on Tier 1 commercial projects in a variety of sectors.


Responsibilities will include;


Working collaboratively with the Operations Teams and Technical Operating Team, the Senior AV Engineer will have a primary focus to provide a high standard of Audio Visual Commissioning, Installation and support for the audio visual services projects, supporting the CEO & Technical Director in meeting business goals by ensuring that technical resources are managed and supported to complete project and other works.


Understand and deliver the following to a high standard;

  • Provide high quality support to customers in audio visual fault resolution, project and service request provisioning.
  • Assist with Installations and grounds work where needed (until the team grows, where you would see progression to Technical Lead)
  • Technical performance and task management for a small team of AV support engineers and technicians.
  • Commission the audio, video, network and control functions of our installed systems.
  • Configure and program equipment to achieve optimum system functionality.
  • Work with Systems Engineers, and Control Systems Engineers to ensure installed systems meet
specified standards, and client requirements.

  • Deal with key aspects of the specified hardware being configured, including proprietary software. Interfacing of audiovisual systems into client buildings, this will encompass both hardware and software interfaces
  • Provide technical support to internal departments to assist in system design, equipment recommendations, and service issues, including supporting the Sales team with technical inputs into quotations or RFP's.
  • Produce and/or review system documentation, including schematics, operation manuals, and commissioning reports.

Qualifications and Experience needed

  • Security Clearance or ability to meet eligibility for obtaining clearance (Aust. citizenship)
  • Experience in the installation and commissioning of audio, video and control systems.
  • Experience with programming switching systems, including Crestron, AMX and Extron would be advantageous.
  • Practical experience or knowledge of systems such as NVX, SVSi, iMag, Wyrestorm and similar would be advantageous
  • Audio engineering experience (commissioning, tuning and programming of different DSP's)
  • Familiarity with digital and analogue audio commissioning principles including gain structure, echo cancellation, and signal processing.
  • Knowledge of network design and implementation.
  • CCNA or equivalent networking experiences an advantage.
  • CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) or CTS-I certification is preferred.
  • Significant industry experience in implementing complex Audio Visual systems for large enterprises.
  • Experience with both hardware, and softwarebased video conferencing solutions.
  • Strong fault finding, and problemsolving skills
  • The ability to supervise, manage tasks and installation teams to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Welldeveloped communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask in this dynamic role.
  • Hold a current valid driver's licence.
  • Be willing and able to travel as project duties call.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
  • Relationship management skills with ability to build confidence and trust
  • Proficient in a range of MS software packages as required
  • Deadline driven and goal oriented.
