Your responsibilities will include:


  • Scope, plan and deliver a strategic plan and program to implement a WHS&E framework for the Company, taking into account the needs of the business, to deliver a system which enables the monitoring and reporting of WHS&E performance metrics and ensures all our environments are safe and healthy, and responsive to emerging risks, and compliant with regulatory, legislative and ISO requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with, and provide expert advice to executives, managers and employees to build strong stakeholder relationships and engagement, to ensure WHS&E principles, frameworks and processes are implemented consistently across the agency, and to contribute to the minimisation and resolution of WHS&E issues and risks.
  • Actively engage with staff, deliver training, coaching and mentoring across the agency, to maximise understanding and drive the adoption of the new WHS&E framework and 'safety first' workplace culture.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate systems, processes and tools to manage and continuously improve incident reporting, hazard inspections, audits, controls and other WHS&E activities to ensure best practice safety management systems and approaches are in place and to ensure compliance.
  • Assist, support and develop capability in areas such as injury management and return to work
  • Manage and coordinate all site and other WHS&E related investigations to identify contributing factors to failures and incidents across the Company

You will require the following skills and experience to be successful:

  • Significant experience working as a WHS&E Business Partner
  • Demonstrated experience in driving a safety culture from a behavioural and compliance perspective
  • Demonstrated change management experience, and experience working directly with senior stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of systems and frameworks.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining a Safety Management System that will meet ISO standards
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Completed a RTW and injury management course preferable
  • ICAM or equivalent investigation qualifications
  • Expert knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of WH&S Legislation, codes of practice and other regulations and the development of supporting strategies, systems, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills, including engaging a variety of stakeholders to achieve performance and behavioural change
