About the role:

A highly rewarding opportunity to join the Schools Unit at our
City Campus as our VCE Business and Ancient History Teacher

The Teacher - VCE Business and Ancient History provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to VCE students, to:

support student success in Unit 1 to 4 VCE Business and Ancient History courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways

- ensure BHI compliance requirements are met.

The Teacher - VCE Business and Ancient History is one of several positions in the VCE Unit of the School Unit.

The position reports to the Manager School Unit and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of BHI at all levels.

The Foundation Education College, as part of the Educational Delivery division, provides pre-accredited programs; foundation programs, such as learner support, general, transition and work education; and senior secondary school programs such as VCE, VCE VM, and VPC.

Our courses provide pathways into further education and employment, and help to increase life and employability skills.

Full-time, part-time, on-campus, blended, work-based and online delivery options exist to suit the needs of our students and industry partners.

This role will commence on the 5th
February 2024 for first term classes.

About You:

Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Education (secondary) or higher
Current VIT Registration
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, uptodate and engaging course materials and lessons. Demonstrated proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
Experience with student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required, and resulting
High level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
Appreciation of administrative requirements required for the coordination of vocation education and training, an understanding of OH&S, equity and equal opportunities, and legislation to TAFE teaching
Demonstrated ability to identify both potential and existing issues and setbacks within a classroom, and to effectively resolve these issues. Ability to motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes
