Program Manager

  • Based in Perth with travel to Regional WA
  • Hands on project management role
  • Delivering renewable solutions to achieve decarbonisation goals.

What is your new role about?


Based with Horizon Power's Customers Solutions team and reporting to the Customer Programs Manager, the Program Manager will be closely involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, such as project briefing, development, and management.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the Customer Solutions portfolio of commercial solar projects, working with private and Government stakeholders to help meet their decarbonisation objectives.

The Customer Solutions team is responsible for delivering customer facing distributed energy projects and products.

Our exciting portfolio of works includes the likes of energy product development, network-based community batteries, solar system programs, electrification works, and renewable energy structures.

Your new role will include:


  • Manage the detailed design, delivery, post implementation review and handover of nominated initiatives, projects, products, and services to approved scope, quality, schedule and budget, in line with approved business case(s)
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership and ensure safety in planning, design, and execution activities.
  • Develop budgets, schedules, business cases and associated financial models for named individual programs of work.
  • Provide strategic advice on the development, approach and delivery of customer facing products and services.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on all programs of work.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies.
  • Manage the delivery of works and services with thirdparty suppliers.
  • Understand and manage risks and issues throughout the project or initiative lifecycle.
  • Manage operational handover activities.
  • Manage multiple programs of work, including any related internal and external project dependencies to meet agreed quality, time, and cost objectives.
  • Lead and communicate multidiscipline project activities across all areas including (but not exclusive of) Safety, Operations, Customer, Legal, Project Management, Procurement and Engineering

Our Project Manager will have:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Project or Program Management roles
  • Experience in commercial and/or residential solar installations
  • Delivery of works to approved scope, budget and schedule, as well as demonstrated management of a portfolio/program of projects.
  • A proven ability to develop and implement procurement strategies, undertake negotiations, and manage contracts.
  • A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Very high level of communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Previous projectbased experience of customer facing products and services, and/or community engagement.
  • Ability to manage a cross functional multidisciplined project team.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple streams of work to deliver overall business goals on individual programs of work on time and on budget.
  • An understanding of and ability to meet budget end of month requirements.
  • Ability to interrogate a data set and provide a concise analysis of that data, including key insights and communicating to a wide audience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and project management software (MS Project / Planview / etc)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to regional WA.
