As a Technical Officer within the College of Vocational Education, you will be responsible for providing technical support/maintenance to the spaces used by staff, students and business partners to achieve teaching, learning and commercial outcomes for the Plumbing, Carpentry and Building and Construction programs.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
Proven practical knowledge and hands on experience within plumbing, carpentry or similar trades. Strong practical skills and experience with a wide range of hand and power tools. Specific knowledge or experience in working in science labs, tech labs, trade labs or studios will be advantageous. Previous experience in implementing and maintaining OHS documentation for equipment and spaces. Excellent time management skills, with good analytical skills and problem-solving skills; Proven ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;Demonstrated interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex written reports to a high standard. High level oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, by working independently and with limited direction, as well as effectively within a dynamic team environment. Proven experience in planning, organising and prioritising work in a busy environment with multiple and conflicting priorities and competing deadlines. Proven working experience in assisting in technical support and proven experience in the storage, handling and legislative requirements of a technical nature related to the relevant specifics of the role.- Qualifications- Certificate III or IV in relevant trade. Ticket in welding or other trades tickets will be advantageous. Relevant training/education and/or work experience.
