About us

The Children's Court of Victoria (ChCV) has jurisdiction under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 to hear cases involving children and young people up to the age of 18 years, and in some cases up to 19 years.

It has a Family Division and a Criminal Division and it sits at locations throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

About the role
Registrars of the ChCV perform a wide range of administrative tasks. These may include in-court (bench clerk) duties, client-contact (telephone and counter) enquiries, and back-of-office administrative responsibilities.

The role may be performed in a range of jurisdictional contexts, including Family Division, Criminal Division, Intervention Orders, Koori Court and CAYPINS (Children and Young Person Infringement Notice System).
