Position Information:

Lisarow High School is a comprehensive 7-12 school with an enrolment of 751 students. Approximately 4% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Lisarow High School is on Darkinjung land and sits on picturesque grounds in close proximity to the Pacific Highway.

Positive partnerships exist between the school and its partner schools - Lisarow, Ourimbah, Narara, Valley View and Niagara Park Public Schools.

Combined these schools work together as the Valley Schools Learning Community.

The school works in close partnership with its community, supported by an active Parents and Citizens Association and Cooinda Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.


The school offers targeted intake classes including Enrichment, Technology Opportunity, Creative and Performing Arts Academy, Sports Academy and Dance Academy and students are offered abroad curriculum choice in Stages 5 & 6.The school offers a well-rounded wellbeing program for students, led by a committed Learning Support Team.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Visible, collaborative educational leadership and an exemplary classroom teacher with high level organisational skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead the Science faculty in implementing innovative, high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment practises through curriculum review and implementation, which meet the needs of all learners across all equity groups.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to connect with all key stakeholders to effectively build and strengthen a positive and collaborative learning culture to support high expectations across the school and community.
  • Proven ability in working collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school strategic priorities and initiatives.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
