The Opportunity:
EXPAT opportunity at a challenging mining operation in Asia, responsible for the development & improvement of the safety & health plan, strategy, programs and systems.
Working with site VP's / Directors to provide expert knowledge of international mining standards across the site.You will lead a large team across medical, mine rescue, emergency response, training, risk, hygiene.
A key part of the position will be developing and implementing strategy, fire systems, programs in order to continually improve performance in the department.
Key Focus:
- Work alongside site VP's and Directors
- Lead site Emergency Response functions
- Complex Safety and Fire systems
- Lead OHS meetings
- ER equipment maintenance
- Coaching & developing local workforce
- Lead and set standards for safety & health team
- Support senior operational team across the site
- Emergency response and mine rescue
- Contractor management
Core competences / Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in OHS
- Mining safety & health leadership experience
- Emergency management & mine rescue
- Expatriate experience in Africa, PNG, Asia, South America, Pacific
- Underground mining
- Strong coaching ability
- Ability to lead with authority in challenging jurisdictions globally
