ABOUT THE ROLE:


As a Midwifery Unit Manager, you will play a key role in managing our Antenatal / Postnatal Ward at Mercy Hospital for Women.

Join our busy Unit with a diverse and committed team of Midwifery Unit Managers, AMUMs, Midwifery staff and Lactation Consultants.


  • Permanent position 0.8 EFT
  • There are two 25 bed Antenatal/Postnatal Wards at Mercy Hospital for Women
  • Provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the Unit
  • Highquality clinical practices and family centred care
  • Collaborate with the other MUMs/NUMs within the Postnatal/Antenatal Units
  • Opportunity for you to seek innovative improvements in patient care.
  • Play a role in tactically managing the operational, financial, human resources and information resources within the Unit.

ABOUT YOU:


  • Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant Clinical qualifications and skills, and a Post Graduate qualification (or working towards) in management or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in maternity services and demonstrated achievements in leading clinical innovation.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, awareness of financial and budgetary processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
  • You are keen to bring your Midwifery and Management skills to a specialist facility.

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services.

We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.
