About the role


Reporting to the Manager Volunteer Services, the
Regional Volunteer Liaison Officer - North will act as an intermediary between allocated community and residential aged care sites (in the North metro catchment) and volunteers.


This role is responsible for providing face-to-face and remote support to site volunteer coordination teams by helping to identify volunteer needs; assisting with screening and inducting incoming volunteers; be a go-to for volunteers and check-in to see how they are going; assist with reporting/tracking; assist with performance management issues; and assist sites with their volunteer recognition efforts.


On a day-to-day basis, this role will involve travel to different sites to help maximise opportunities to embed improved volunteer involvement practices at each site.


This position is permanent part-time, working 22.8 hours per week so an excellent opportunity if you are looking for flexibility.

Tuesday is a required workday however other days and times are negotiable.


About you


You're passionate about the value that volunteering has to offer and enjoy the variety that liaising with volunteers and staff will bring to your day This could be the right fit for you if you've worked in volunteer coordination, community development, learning and development or similar fields.


As this role involves working remotely you will be comfortable working with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.


You will also bring:

  • Excellent administration, organisation and time management skills to effectively support multiple sites both remotely and in person
  • A natural ability to build rapport with people from all age groups and diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Handson experience with a range of IT tools and ability to maintain accurate records
  • An understanding of healthcare and the risks and challenges associated with volunteering in this environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
