About the role

The Trades Assistant will be responsible for carrying out, and assisting with, efficient and cost-effective maintenance, repairs and minor new work within the West Moreton Health Service District.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist Trades staff and other Infrastructure and Assets supervisory personnel in the performance of scheduled and corrective maintenance and accommodation management tasks.
  • Assist with office relocations, including lifting of office and household furniture, whitegoods, boxes and construction waste.
  • Organise and complete allocated tasks including ensuring availability of materials, meeting deadlines and ensuring that required standards are met.
About you

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise works, projects and timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to make responsible and accurate recommendations in relation to maintenance work.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce an effective work output in terms of both quality and quantity without supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or individually, interacting, communicating and negotiating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/1
  • Vaccinated against COVID19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
