About the role


CatholicCare's Permanency Support Program implements Intensive Therapeutic Care model of service to support children and young people in our care who have experienced trauma and neglect.

The Foster Care Recruitment and Support Officer is involved in the recruitment, assessment, training and support of Foster Carers. This position is Permanent Fulltime.


Duties

  • Recruit carers in line with approved marketing campaigns;
  • Conduct inhome information sessions and assessments of potential carers;
  • Conduct carer reviews and develop and deliver carer training sessions
  • Maintain accurate and wellwritten reports and documentation; as well as a
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Safeguarding.

Skills & experience

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience working with children, young people or adults who have experienced complex trauma
  • Sound knowledge of Intensive Therapeutic Care and child protection and support in NSW with previous DCJ experience highly regarded;
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach and provide support to others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with carers
Experience in Foster Carer Assessment and/or demonstrated experience in recruitment/selection and/or marketing will be highly regarded.
