The Corporate Governance Team within the Parliamentary and Governance Branch in the Finance and Budget Division undertakes a variety of governance and corporate functions to support Executives and business groups to implement cross-agency initiatives.

The team contributes to support governance frameworks, building relationships and working collaboratively with a range of Commonwealth agencies, including central agencies, portfolio entities and other key internal and external stakeholders.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of the department's governance framework.
  • Oversight of the department's enterprise project management framework.
  • Provision of secretariat functions to many of the DEWR's key governance committees.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Interdepartmental Agreements & Engagement, the Governance and Projects Officer is responsible for the day to day running of key external governance committees.

This role is crucial to the management of relationships with the department's key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the

APS 5 include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare documentation and reports, support secretariat processes and maintain record-keeping requirements.
  • Produce high quality work and the provision of accurate advice with broad guidance.
  • Ensure the policies and operational documents are promoted and maintained.
  • Provide support to high level internal governance committees as required.

Skills and Capabilities
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and capabilities:

  • High levels of administrative and organisational capabilities.
  • Welldeveloped oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Self driven and the ability to show initiative.
  • Record keeping experience and the ability to handle highly sensitive information in accordance with government security requirements.

The Opportunity
This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and/or APS employees as a temporary transfer at level and/or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of

12 months.


Eligibility

Baseline clearance to undertake the role.
