Your new role


We are seeking an Advisor, Equity and Inclusion to play a pivotal role in coordinating the implementation of the University's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).

You will engage with key stakeholders across the University to embed universal design into all aspects of the Curtin experience, while also supporting initiatives under the Student Equity and Inclusion Framework.

In this position, you will have a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team where your high-level communication skills and collaborative approach will contribute to shaping the student experience.


This role is a part-time, permanent position with a commitment of 22.5 hours a week over a minimum of 3 days, offering flexible hours and adaptable working arrangements.


In this role, you will:


  • Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the University's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP).
  • Provide high level support and advice to University stakeholders on matters regarding universal design, the DAIP and student equity.
  • Ensuring the University's compliance with relevant legislation such as the Disability Services Act 199
  • Assist with implementing the Student Equity and Inclusion Framework.
  • Facilitate strategic stakeholder meetings with clear objectives and deliverables.
  • Completion of a relevant degree qualification with considerable relevant experience; or extensive relevant experience in a diversity and inclusion or management of a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) (or similar) role; or an equivalent combination or relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience designing and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives in a large and diverse work environment.
  • Demonstrated awareness of contemporary issues relating to diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate crosscultural sensitivity.
  • High level interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as a team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience coordinating, managing and evaluating a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (highly desired).
