Group Funding is responsible for managing the Group's long-term and short-term wholesale funding needs.


Funding and Liquidity raises Short
- and Long-Term funding for the Group and manages associated collateral requirements. This covers multiple programmes including Covered Bonds, Securitisation and Senior Bond issuance. The team also manages the Bank's short term non-traded market risk, including the interest rate, foreign exchange, funding and liquidity risks associated with the Group's lending and deposit taking business.


Post Deal Management , forming part of the
Long Term Funding team, actively manage the ongoing middle office function for operationally complex funding transactions generated by Group Treasury. PDM ensure the Bank delivers on its transactional and regulatory obligations for Securitisation, Covered Bonds, PERLS Capital Notes and other non-vanilla transactions with a focus on compliance, accuracy and product expertise.


This role will assist with ensuring the bank meets its obligations for existing funding transactions, including preparation of Investor reports, distribution calculations, regulatory reporting and other compliance tasks.

The role also requires engagement with key internal teams (such as broader Treasury, Risk, Retail Bank, Operations and Finance) and external stakeholders (such as Trustees, Rating Agencies and Auditors).

Regulatory restrictions govern how CBA structures its balance sheet. The role will assist with compliance of existing and evolving regulatory obligations.


Do work that matters

  • Key responsibilities will include the following:
  • Perform the middle office tasks required for effective management of complex funding transactions over their life.
  • Work in conjunction with Treasury funding teams to assist with transaction onboarding from concept through to settlement.
  • Liaise with various departments in Retail Banking for assistance with activities on securitised home loans, providing information to Mortgage Services and working with lending systems teams.
  • Contribute to a constructive, adaptive and committed team dynamic. All team members are expected and encouraged to provide active contribution and challenge within an open and supportive team environment.
  • Engage regularly with Treasury and other bank departments for ongoing reporting and distribution matters.
  • Support management of relationships with investors, rating agencies, trustees, internal & external stakeholders. Provide support for RBA, APRA engagement as required.
  • To be able to operate within very tight deadlines with a high attention to detail, and to effectively prioritise workload to meet these constraints.
  • Identify improvements and assist in implementing efficiencies to processes.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Tertiary education within finance, commerce or accounting.
  • 15 years' experience in a financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical / reasoning skills with ability to demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking.
  • Sound communication skills and a commercial perspective.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills along with previous experience with SQL are highly regarded.
  • Home Loan and or Securitisation product experience will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of markets and funding products is beneficial but not a prerequisite.
