Our client, located in Lake Macquarie, is a successful and respected Australian favourite in the motorhome industry. The dealership offers both new and used vehicles in various sizes and caters to every budget. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and conscientious Vehicle Body Builder to join their team.


ABOUT THE ROLE


This full-time permanent position is responsible for the stage 1 assembly of vehicles, which includes fitting water tanks, windows, cutting vehicle bodies, under-body plumbing, external steps, and external vehicle fitments.


The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform stage 1 assembly of vehicles according to established guidelines and specifications.
  • Fit water tanks, windows, and other components onto vehicle bodies.
  • Cut and modify vehicle bodies as per design requirements and specifications.
  • Install underbody plumbing systems in vehicles.
  • Fit external steps on vehicles to ensure safe and easy access.
  • Attach and secure external vehicle fitments.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assembly tasks.
  • Conduct quality checks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or defects that arise during the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety guidelines and practices.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding quality. safety, and workplace ethics.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous experience as a vehicle body builder or installer in a manufacturing or automotive environment is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for vehicle assembly.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
  • Detailoriented.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Prioritisation and time management skills to meet production deadlines.
