An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and motiviated individual to join the Precinct Coordination team within the newly formed Precincts and Land Branch as Policy Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

The Policy Officer position sits in the Precincts and Land Branch, Economic Policy and State Productivity Group. We work in a complex, fast paced and challenging environment with a constructive and positive culture.

The new Precincts and Land Branch will support delivery of government's key objectives for housing, jobs, infrastructure and sustainability in precincts.

The role will involve working closely with a range of stakeholders in DPC, the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and other related agencies.

The position will support the activities of the branch including governance, policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.

To be considered for this role, you will have strong coordination, communication, conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to provide high quality advice in a time-pressured environment.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with other DPC policy areas and other Government departments.
About you


  • Demonstrated experience providing authoritative, high quality and timely advice in support of government priorities in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information, and identify innovative solutions to complex policy issues.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to influence decisions through the preparation of timely and evidenceinformed recommendations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal.
