Job Description:

This role is an exciting opportunity to optimize our transport network & manage a portfolio of metro carriers Australia wide.

As part of the Supply Chain team and reporting to the Logistics Optimisation Manager, your role is integral to ensuring the safe, sustainable, and cost-effective management of our supply chain.

You will be responsible for overseeing our carriers to ensure they deliver the best-in-class service while remaining compliant with relevant Safety, Chain Of Responsibility (CoR) and Quality requirements.


The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Drive a safety first culture with our Logistics Providers, ensuring they comply with relevant Safety, COR and Quality requirements, regulations and legislation.
  • Manage carriers on an ongoing basis this will require daily communication and organize more tactical & strategic meetings (weekly update, Quarterly Business Reviews) in order to have a consistent DIFOT above 95% nationally.
  • Manage the execution of logistics for a high volume of loads (> 10k per month)
  • Ensure all metro carriers use adequate systems (TMS and any other technology that is implemented).
  • Nurture relationships with internal stakeholders (Operations, Systems, Planning, and Sales teams) to ensure logistics provides the best in class service to a wide portfolio of diverse customers
  • Deliver continuous improvements in the logistics operation so that CHEP Logistics can deliver a bestinclass service to our customers.
  • Define, document processes and play an active role in the training of team members.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years logistics / supply chain experience
  • Strong process reengineering experience

  • Selfdriven to achieve and drive outcomes on a daily basis
  • Understand financial drivers including cost performance, invoicing, and profitability
  • Solid vendor management experience
  • Transport experience
  • Previous role(s) working in regulated environments where compliance is of the utmost importance. Exposure to Safety, Quality and Chain Of Responsibility requirements will be a big plus.
  • Great Interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid experience of IT systems used in Supply Chain (TMS, ERP, MS office
  • Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • SAP a plus
