What we are seeking
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Tradesman to join our Team in Port Hedland Western Australia.

  • There is a great opportunity for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanical Tradesman, to get exposure to Civil
- and Highway equipment. Get exposure to Mining and Marine Construction projects. Work with a strong
  • Hydraulic, LV Electrical, and mechanical aptitude, with a minimum of 5 years' experience post trade.

Your main duties will include (but not limited to):


  • Repair and maintain mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
  • Attend field breakdown on Land and/or Marine site.
  • Work on Field based workshops on Front Line Equipment.
  • Carry out repairs and overhauls to high standard.
  • Plan rebuilds and scheduled maintenance.
  • Adhere to Austral HSE standard and procedures.

To be considered for the position you must have:

  • Trade Qualifications for Hydraulic Fluid Power or Plant Maintenance with in-depth Hydraulic

- experience.
  • Proven post trade experience of 5 years minimum
  • A high level of maintenance fitting skills including installation, and repairs.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills, particularly in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Very high attention to detail and quality with a safety focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication to ensure the decisionmaking processes is in alignment with our mission
- statement and core values.
  • Indepth understanding of mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic diagnosis and repair. Including drawing
  • Self-Motivated and Driven individual
  • Current driver's licence, preferably including HR.

Desirable but not essential:


  • Experience in Piling Rigs and Marine Equipment
  • Experience of Cranes and lifting equipment
  • Rigging, Dogging, Forklift and Crane tickets
  • Industrial White Card
