Role Purpose:


  • Responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals, developing relationships with key stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Developing and implementing Sales and Marketing strategies and drive Revenue growth.
  • Provide analytical reporting on sales activity, strategic market development opportunities and identify and implement sales monitoring and development.

Key Accountability:


  • Lead the ANZ Leisure & Direct Sales team, developing and training the sales team by providing guidance and support to team members to ensure that sales targets are achieved.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to surpass sales revenue targets from allocated portfolio/sales territory and improve market share.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including travel agencies, tour operators, and other partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base through effective lead generation and sales techniques and development of the sales team to equally identify, expand and develop the customer base.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with team members, providing feedback, coaching and development to improve performance and surpass targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience, from initial inquiry through to postsale support.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activities, providing regular feedback and insights to Senior Management.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to Senior Management, including analysis of sales data and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide Malaysia Airlines within market representation in assigned territory, and at trade and consumer events where required, which may involve occasional work on weekends and evenings.

Qualifications & Working Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Any additional relevant training or certifications relevant to the position would be an added value.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales and Marketing within Australia and New Zealand, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of airline products and services both international and domestic.
  • Management experience in Leisure and Direct Sales.
  • Deep understanding of the Travel Industry, as well as the needs and challenges of the ANZ market.
  • Personal connections within the Travel Industry that will provide fast access to key Travel Industry partners and provide access to market leading sales development opportunities.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Experience developing, training, managing and leading a sales & account management team (>5), with demonstrated industry success.
