To uplift our focus on data and analytics, the Group Data Office (GDO) was established in early 2022 to own the Group Data and Analytics Strategy and drive the Group level data capabilities, acting as an independent functional unit reporting into the Chief Transformation Officer.

In this context, the Group Data Office sets the frameworks and standards, and drives best practice capability uplift across the organisation in relation to data management, data governance, the data modernisation roadmap, and deriving value from data through analytics and insight.


You will be responsible for ensuring the configuration and administration of the enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality Management tools.

That they are fit for business purpose and managed to maximise usage to business and technical users.

Enterprise Data Governance tools are essential to the management of data, and data integrity, and sharing of data assets at scale.

You will play a key role in the design, administration, support, and change management of Data Governance and Data Quality Management systems, driving appropriate configuration of the system to align to the business usage and future state data strategy roadmap.

This role is critical to the increase of organisational data literacy through adoption of the Data Governance and Data Quality Management tools across both business and technology areas.

Advocating appropriate use of systems, embedding capability and supporting new users to mature their knowledge of Group data and drive value from data assets through use of Data Governance and Data Quality Management tools.


In this role you will get to:

  • Maintain currency of skills and continuous improvement of knowledge of the system through attendance of vendor training sessions and self-learning via available resources.
  • Refine, uplift and drive continuous improvement in the use of Data Governance and Data Quality Management tool capabilities.
  • Support business users to effectively achieve outcomes and drive further adoption of the system capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance Leads to identify additional system training and support material required to effectively embed Data Management processes.
  • Report on system usage and activity, supporting the monitoring of data assets under governance and identify and manage commonly used datasets to drive efficiency.
  • Manage, prioritise and respond to backlog of requests within defined SLAs.

About you
You will have experience as a system administrator, system specialist or Data Governance consultant. Experience designing, configuring and developing Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud is essential. Experian Aperture Data Studio or related tools experience would be highly regarded.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability in system design, configuration and workflow development.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and inclusively in any sized setting, with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds and develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships.
  • Proven time management and organisation skills (must be able to breakdown, plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines).
  • High level social and written skills for facilitating common understanding between a broad range of technical and business stakeholders and developing and maintaining mutually beneficial working relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking while working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data management practices including data profiling and management of data quality, business and technical metadata, data cataloguing and business glossary development.
  • An understanding of the banking and financial services industry would be ideal.
