To support our success we are looking for a Corporate Affairs Specialist to join the Strategic Communications team, with flexibility to be based in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
This is achieved through the development and execution of external and internal communication strategies that:
- Build advocacy for our strategy and vision
- Protect and build brand reputation and sector attribution
- Build executive visibility and reputation internally
- Inspire our people to drive and maintain a thriving culture and deliver improved outcomes for members.
As a member of a high performing team of internal and external communication specialists, the Corporate Affairs Specialist works collaboratively with the Corporate Affairs Manager and Corporate Affairs team to develop Australian Retirement Trust's media, corporate affairs and external communications strategies and initiatives in accordance with Australian Retirement Trust's strategy and corporate goals.
The Corporate Affairs Specialist plays an important role in reputation, crisis and issues management, reputation management and is a key influencer across all lines of corporate communication.
In addition, the Corporate Affairs Specialist may provide specialist communications advice and coaching to senior leaders to support the Fund's performance.
This role is available as apermanent opportunity. Some out of hours work may be required from time to time.
We are
flexible with location provide you can attend our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office at least once a week.
About you
If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:
- Strong experience in a similar PR and communications role with a degree in Public Relations, Communications, or equivalent.
- Strong journalistic, storytelling and copywriting skills, and experience in simplifying complex matters and topics for different audiences
- Demonstrated experience in longform writing, such as advertorial, speeches and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Sound crisis communication experience, with the ability to sensitively manage confidential issues and multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Ability to strike a balance between providing strong direction and delivery, whilst working in a cooperative decisionmaking environment.
- Applies advanced verbal and written skills, including coaching on communications related issues.
