Maitland City Council's Community & Recreation team are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to fill the position of the Community Development and Programs Officer.

To assist in the delivering of partnership programs inspiring a healthy, connected, and inclusive Maitland community.


About the role


As the Community Development and Programs Officer, you will develop and implement on community development projects in alignment with Councils plans and strategies.

This role is heavily centred around an ability to collaborate and foster positive relationships with community, including key agencies and organisations.

Enabling the delivery of dynamic and innovative programs, projects, and initiatives for the Maitland Local Government Area. This will include the coordination of Councils Section 356 Community Grants, Club Grants and other funding programmes.


About you

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Science, Event Management, or a related field.

Your well-developed communication skills including networking, consultation and negotiating experience will contribute to the successful leverage of key partnerships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

You will possess expertise in implementing a range of diverse, inclusive and accessible community development projects, activities, and initiatives. As well as holding a valid Working with Children Check and Class C Drivers Licence.

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $69, $77,204.36 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 10.5% p.a.
