Description

We are seeking a highly personable and solutions-focused Operations Manager to join this privately owned and operated business, specialising in supplying 4WD and light vehicle parts to the mining industry.

Based at the head office in Canningvale, this role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects related to the efficient and effective operation of warehouse and distribution management.

As part of this growing, progressive, and innovative company, you will manage the head office warehouse in Perth and ensure the national distribution centres implement the company's processes and systems.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of thirteen members and play a crucial role in exemplifying the company's core values.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations
Collaborate with sales, customer service, purchasing, and management to achieve continuous improvement objectives
Review layouts and ensure optimum efficiency of space utilisation
Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Adhere to all warehousing, handling, safety, and shipping legislation requirements
Strategically manage the operations in compliance with the company's policies and vision
Manage stock control and reconcile with the data storage system
Plan stock levels for each distribution center to reflect the sales team's needs
Liaise and negotiate agreements with logistic suppliers and transport companies
Perform new team member inductions, training, and motivation
Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
Operate forklifts, equipment, and provide handson involvement when required
Manage assets and equipment for maintenance and servicing

Key Requirements:

Proven work experience as a Warehouse Operations/ Logistics Manager
Expertise in operations management procedures and best practices
Proven ability to research, develop, and implement process and system improvement initiatives
Ability to travel to satellite warehouse facilities when required
Strong knowledge of warehousing KPIs
Handson experience with warehouse management software and databases
Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills
Flexible and positive attitude
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
LF/LO and WA Drivers License
Understanding of LEAN principles would be beneficial
Qualifications in Warehousing and/or Operations will be desirable
