As a key leader of the Fundraising and Philanthropy Unit, the Philanthropy Manager will contribute to the implementation of the new Fundraising and Development Strategy , and play an active role working with the Executive team, Beyond Blue Board Directors and key influencers to attract new donors.


Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy, and leading a small team of five, the Philanthropy Manager is responsible for the development and operational delivery of Beyond Blue's major gifts program, including HNW Individuals, Philanthropic Trusts & Foundations and Gifts in Wills, plus a newly integrated mid-level donor program.

You will lead acquisition, engagement and cultivation strategies to build and sustain ongoing pipelines and relationships to connect donors with Beyond Blue and inspire them to give generously towards impactful major projects and appeals.


You will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of robust strategies for attracting and managing philanthropic relationships, plus personally manage a portfolio of major donors, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement and stewardship of philanthropic donors and prospects to maximise giving and retention levels.

It will be important to inspire, motivate, mentor and lead the Philanthropy team to ensure high performance and champion the Culture of Philanthropy in the organisation.

  • People leadership experience with the ability to mentor, coach and lead a highperforming and accountable team
  • Practical understanding of moves management, donor motivations and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape
  • Sound communication, storytelling, stakeholder management, public speaking/presentation and influencing skills
  • Commercial acumen, problemsolving ability, and project management skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE, membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia and an understanding of the
mental health sector are highly regarded.
