We have an exciting opportunity available for a Finance Project Officer to join the NSW EPA.

Reporting to the Manager Business Advisory & Partnering, the Finance Project Officer will provide high-quality financial partnering, business analysis & advise to the senior leadership team, Finance Branch, and the executive of the designated division to support efficient and effective management of resources and budgets to assist the division meet their financial objectives.


About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • Strong skills and experience in management accounting, reporting, budgeting and analysis within a large and complex organisation.
  • Partnering with Divisions to produce complicated internal management reports to enable effective business decision
  • Provide accurate information and assistance in managing financial performance.
  • Demonstrated Business Partnering experience.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Finance and Audit Act and Australian accounting standards.
  • Strong track record of achievement with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to draw key insights from large data sets.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and eligibility or near eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent experience (or working towards these qualifications).

About the team


The Business Advisory & Partnering team acts as the finance business partner to executive and senior management in the EPA.

The Business Advisory & Partnering team takes the lead role in providing business and financial advisory services for assigned divisions, including internal budgeting and forecasting, labour analytics, capital reporting and planning, divisional management reporting, business case development and development of risk and savings plans.
