A summary of the requirements are as follows:
Alstom's V/Line Maintenance project is responsible for the management of the maintenance of the V/Line Rolling Stock Fleet.

As a Mechanical Maintainer, you will be assisting to maintain V/Line's Classic Fleet of 1950s-1990s built locomotives, carriages, Sprinter DMUs and new VLocity DMUs.

These trains are a key part of the V/Line Fleet, transporting passengers throughout regional Victoria.

This position based at our West Melbourne Depot, and provides support to the Alstom Maintenance team.

  • Carrying out a range of tasks in order to test, repair, overhaul or modify rail vehicles in the braking, traction, suspension and other related rail vehicle systems.
  • Be a selfstarter and work independently with little supervision in a team environment.
  • Carrying out general duties required by their immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure that the fleet is running efficiently, safely, and we are abiding by relevant industry standards.
  • Comply with OH&S legislative, policy and procedure requirements.
  • Must have successfully completed an apprenticeship in a Mechanical Trade e.g. Mechanical Fitter and Turner, Diesel or
  • Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent;
  • Pneumatic, pipe fitting or sub system trouble shooting experience and or qualifications.
Dayshift 11hr Roster 5 on 5 off, 2on 2 off

Houlry rate $49.85
